A sex scandal involving a Thai politician’s affair with her adopted monk son has caused an uproar in the country. Prapaporn Choeiwadkoh, 45, was reportedly discovered in bed with her 24-year-old adopted son, Phra Maha, also a monk.
The incident unfolded when Choeiwadkoh’s husband, identified as Ti, arrived unexpectedly after a five-hour drive, catching them red-handed. Choeiwadkoh and her husband had adopted Phra Maha from a temple the previous year out of sympathy. After the scandal, Phra Maha is said to be on the run, according to the South China Morning Post (SCMP).
The shocking news has reverberated throughout Thai social media circles and neighbouring countries, with users expressing disbelief at the bizarre circumstances. Some have compared the situation to a dramatic fiction plot, noting the stark age differences between the individuals involved.
A video recording purportedly featuring Choeiwadkoh has surfaced on various social media platforms, allegedly filmed by her husband, Ti. In the footage, Ti questions the pair’s relationship, to which Choeiwadkoh denies any sexual activity, claiming they were merely conversing. Phra Maha also maintains his innocence, saying that nothing inappropriate happened.
Choeiwadkoh, a prominent figure in Sukhothai, a province in central Thailand, holds the position of president in a local chamber of commerce and has been affiliated with the Democrat Party since March of the previous year. However, in light of the scandal, the party has suspended her pending further investigation. The scandal has captivated public attention due to its sensational nature and the involvement of a well-known political figure.
